Monday, July 7th
THE ROLLING STONES AT THE BERCY ARENA
(Palais Omnisport de Paris-Bercy, or P.O.P.B.)

Actually, many people will probably arrive on the day of the show (monday, july 7th)...

As many of us will have tickets on the floor, which is standing,
most will probably arrive early to stay in line
and get as close as possible to the stage.

Others who have reserved seats
or who will care more for hitting the b-stage
or dont want to spend a whole hot day in line
will take their time to look around Paris,
unpack, get ready (EXCITED!) for the show.

The BERCY VILLAGE restaurants (cour St Emilion) are open in the afternoon, you can have a good time there, it's at a lazy foot distance from the Arena, walking through a beautiful green park.

BEFORE MEETING POINT
BAR LES SPECTACLES

To get to the venue, check (and print) the POPB access map.
Métro station is "BERCY" (what else ?!), lines are number 6 or 14.
Another station, bigger, is a few minutes walk away
(station GARE DE LYON, metro line 1, or RER lines A and C).
Details can be found on the BERCY special page.

It is now confirmed that this bar will be the "Some Girls"

The Boss (Eric) is a real fan and requested a special authorisation for beeing open all night for GLIMMERS and Stones Fans ! Sounds excellent, isn't it ?

Today you visit Montmartre :

How to get there ?
(BUS): 67 (gentilly - sully morland (near Bastille) - pigalle) ;

If you're thirsty or lookin' for a meeting point, experience the "Café Montmartre", rue Steinkerque (M2) Anvers,
then climb the stairs... Enjoy the 'funiculaire' and visit place du tertre, salvator dali's museum, sacré coeur church and the scenery at your feet...
Have a drink in the typical "la Maison Rose", 2 rue de l'abreuvoir, (close to the wineyard !).
Then walk down toward Pigalle. There you can accept various invitations... or have a rest in "Chao Ba" bar Place Pigalle (M2) Pigalle.

Do-it-by-bus : take the Montmartrobus, Place Pigalle !

(may be some last minute places availables ???)

Tuesday July 8th
ROLLING STONES NIGHT

During the Stones week, an exceptionnal exhibition of photographs by Dominique Tarle will take place at the Hotel du Nord. Tarle had spent six months at Keith's house in the south of France during the recording sessions of Exile On Main Street. You cant miss that...

Organized jointly with PARISGLIMMER and the "Club des Stones" (French fan-club) the great STONES NIGHT is organised in two parts :

ROLLING STONES DINNER
(*rock* menu , 25€+drinks)

A special french menu will be served from 8:00 PM, in a Stones ambiance.
It's a private dinner, so you MUST subscribe and give the name of every person. The entrance will only be allowed if you are on the (and there is few places left !!!).

DON'T BE LATE :
after the dinner (about 10PM) , the restaurant closes and makes place for the music (live, open stage)
(my suggestion is to be there at 7pm and look quietly at Dominique's Pictures)

ROCK SHOW LIVE

Wednesday 9/7
After show

For after show partying, do not hope to get downtown very early...
At the 1998 show, going back to Paris turned into a hectic race to catch the last overcrowded trains.
Since the Rolling Stones were the very first to play a concert at this venue, hopes are high that the transportation companies (RATP or SNCF) have improved their service, though nothing is certain...

After an exhaustive exhausting research that lasted many weeks ;-))), the Paris Glimmer Team selected a nice night rockbar in the Latin Quarter. Many night clubs will be still open in this neighborhood too so you will be able to wander around the streets of this nice, safe and lively district.

And if you happen to wish to go back to the GlimmerHotel before the first metro runs (around 5:30am), you will walk about 3 miles along the Seine river banks and will be able to catch incredible views of the Paris Islands

AFTER SHOW : GLIMMER CLUB click for the map

A comfortable lounge will serve drinks in a musical ambiance by 2 or 3 in the morning, and nights clubs are in the surroundings for those who wants to spend the night out of their beds...

The Vodka 31 bar is on the map placed in your glimmer hotel room.

RONNIE WOOD ART SHOW 2003

Throughout the years the artist and the musician have been inseparable. As his musical career progressed, Ronnie continued his passion for painting and drawing, his subjects ranging from band members and musicians he admired, knew and sometimes played with, to family and close friends - and, of course, the self-portrait. It is as natural to find him with a pencil as with a guitar, drawing portraits of contemporaries and finding inspiration from his musical influences.

In America in the early 1980’s Ronnie produced his first prints - three woodcuts and a series of monoypes. At that time he was not yet an experienced printmaker so it was with great enthusiasm that he siezed upon the opportunity in 1987 to spend several months working in a professional printmaking studio in England. Since then he has devoted a considerable amount of time to printmaking and has produced a number of images using various techniques - etching, drypoint, screenprint and digital.

Friday, July 11:
THE ROLLING STONES AT THE OLYMPIA THEATER

10:00 AM
If you didn't get them on Thursday,
go and get your tickets at Olympia !

When you've finished, have a fine french meal at CHARTIER

About 2000 seats in l'Olympia.

Impossible to describe this awesome, outstanding, marvellous venue.

The Olympia is THE place.

The first place the Stones payed in France, a few months after the Beatles.
The place where they chose to play again in 1995.
Ask any artist around the world :
you have not achieved stardom until your name is posted, in huge neon letters,
on the front of this theater.

And some pretend that the backstage of the Olympia is haunted
by the souls of all those who played there in almost a century.

Here is the link to the Olympia Theater official website here:

You can buy tickets online (with a beautiful realtime seating chart)
from this site for all shows... except the Stones, of course.

We were at Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings show on june 26,
discover what we saw there !

The Rolling Stones at the Olympia, 1965.

Memories from those who went to this venue on previous tours
will hopefully be posted here someday.

Tickets for this show of course completely SOLD OUT from day one.
Actually, the whole telephone system blew out two hours before the public sale
(december 11, 2002) and was functionnal again only on the next evening.
Fanclub tickets were available from www.rollingstones.com
a few days before the public sale, and were also gone in a matter of minutes.

We will not even try to put up a ticket trading page for this show here.
Thousands of people are looking for one of these precious tickets
and we dont even have enough for ourselves...
So if you happen to have an extra, well, let's talk! ;-)

Latest ticket information

WARNING !!!

ALL theater shows so far this tour (6 in Canada/USA, 1 in Australia
and 4 in other european countries) had a VERY strict wristband policy.

Paris Olympia Theater seems to be an exception as the tickets themselves have been sent to buyers -at least from the fanclub- and no instruction about wristbands were included with the tickets.

HOWEVER, we STRONGLY encourage you to check with the Olympia
a few days BEFORE the show about this wristband policy.

It seems highly probable than this wristband policy WILL happen.

Therefore, if you buy a ticket from anyone outside the official sellers
(Olympia Theater and www.ticketnet.fr)
YOUR TICKET MIGHT BE NOT VALID.

Dont say you have not been warned.

Friday July 11th
ROLLING STONES NIGHT

Right after the concert, we'll get together in a bar near the Olympia (to be announced on the message boards at the GlimmerHotels), then we'll head back to the Bastille District for the ROLLING STONES NIGHT, organized by LE GlimmerBar :

75012 PARIS
01 46 03 40 33
Metro station : Bastille or Ledru-Rollin(' Stones !)
